Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Nordic Ski Coach for Sr. High to support the Head Coach during practices and meets at Brainerd High School. This half-time assignment focuses on safety, coaching strategies, and student-athlete development.

You will motivate athletes, foster teamwork, and coordinate with families and the Activities Director while adhering to district policies and extracurricular schedule.

Qualifications

• High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Willingness to accept and follow direction.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• General office skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates successful practices and attends meets.
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff in support of the Head Coach.
• Encourage student participation and establish rapport.
• Motivate participants/athletes to achieve maximum potential.
• Work collaboratively with Head Coach, Activities Director, families and community resources.
• Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations.
• Complies with and supports all school district regulations and policies.
• Other duties as determined by the Head Coach.
