Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Nordic Ski Coach for Middle School/Junior High to lead practices, advise skiers on rules, strategies, and safety, and help prepare athletes for competition district-wide.

The role is part-time, reports to the Activities Coordinator, and requires a high school diploma with coaching experience preferred. The district emphasizes a dynamic, inclusive environment and collaboration with families and staff.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Ability to work effectively with parents, students and other staff.
Previous coaching experience preferred.
Willingness to accept and follow direction.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
General office skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Facilitates successful practices and attends meets.
Provide leadership and guidance to staff in support of the Head Coach.
Encourage student participation and establish rapport.
Motivate participants/athletes to achieve maximum potential.
Work collaboratively with Head Coach, Activities Director, families and community resources.
Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations.
Complies with and supports all school district regulations and policies.
Other duties as determined by the Head Coach.
