The Mennel Milling Company in Fostoria, OH is seeking an Assistant Miller to support flour mill operations, ensure product quality, and uphold food safety standards. You will participate in daily transfers, quality sampling, and routine maintenance in a fast-paced production setting.

The role requires 1–3 years in milling or manufacturing, ability to pass a respirator test, and a focus on safety and teamwork. A diploma and basic computer skills are needed to succeed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 to 3 years of flour milling, food production, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a Respirator Fit Test and perform job duties while wearing a respirator.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily flour mill operations, flour transfers, and mill changes.
• Perform quality analysis, product sampling, and food safety checks.
• Support equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and routine repairs.
• Monitor wheat cleaning and tempering processes and make adjustments as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready work environment.
• Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and sanitation requirements.
• Assist with training Mill Utility personnel.
• Serve as backup for the Head Miller or Shift Miller when needed.
