Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver, CO seeks an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to support licensed engineers on a wide range of projects, from power to healthcare. You will help translate concepts into mechanical designs, adapt drawings, and work through design and construction phases.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and practical problem solving; the team values strong communication, internship experience, and the ability to learn CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Revit as part of daily

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical design from concept through design completion.
• Assist with reviewing production drawings for multiple project types.
• Apply basic mechanical engineering concepts and procedures.
• Assist with client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
• Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
