Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Columbus, OH is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to support project teams under a licensed PE. You will assist in conceptual and detailed mechanical design for power, process, healthcare, aerospace and more, adapting drawings and analyses to meet budget and client needs.

Ideal candidates have an ABET-credited engineering degree with internship experience; FE/EIT is preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC analysis and related tools is expected, along with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from ABET program required.
• FE exam eligibility or EIT certification preferred.
• Internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of standard mechanical engineering concepts.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM (Revit) and HVAC analysis programs.

Responsibilities

• Assists in mechanical design of projects from concept through design completion.
• Assists with modifying and reviewing production drawings for various facilities.
• Assists in designing mechanical components per project requirements.
• Applies basic mechanical engineering concepts within the industry.
• Assists with client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
• Performs field inspections, measurements, or calculations as required.
