Job summary

GPM Investments LLC is seeking an Assistant Manager for our high-energy convenience store in Banner Elk, NC. You will support the Store Manager, run the register, coach staff, and lead a team to deliver outstanding customer service across shifts.

Expect to hire, train, and supervise a team, handle inventory and deposits, and ensure a clean, inviting store. Open availability, weekend/holiday work, and a valid driver's license are required; a Food Safety Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Must have or be able to obtain Food Safety Certification.
• Proficient in English with basic math skills.
• Open availability including weekends, holidays, and likely 2nd/3rd shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a great attitude.
• Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service and store success.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store including restrooms and pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules for full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership to motivate excellence.
