J.Crew Group is seeking a part-time Assistant Manager in Norfolk, VA to drive profitability through customer connections and strong brand loyalty. You will coach sales associates and partner with the leadership team to implement store strategies and ensure smooth operations.

You will lead divisions, support recruiting and training, and deliver best-in-class service while adapting to fashion trends and community events. Flexible scheduling including nights and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Have 1-2 years of retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Passionately support our brand, customers, and teams.
• Stay up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty, demonstrating strong problem‑solving skills.
• Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must bend, reach, stretch for product and move at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to directly impact business results through a strong customer connection and brand alignment.
• Own your designated division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology with accountability.
• Assist Store Director & Associate Store Manager with recruiting, training and development efforts.
• Partner with Store Director and Associate Store Manager to foster a collaborative working environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team exceeds goals and provides best-in-class customer service.
• Lead product knowledge sessions to elevate authentic customer connection.
• Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
• Step into multiple roles on the sales floor when needed.
