Job summary

Slick City in West Des Moines is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to drive guest experiences and lead a diverse team across the cafe, check-in, parties, and attractions.

You will partner with the GM to schedule, manage inventory and events, and ensure safe, high‑energy operations while building a culture where both guests and teammates feel they belong. A clear path toward General Manager is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in entertainment, hospitality, food service, or retail.
• Food service or events management experience is a strong plus.
• A genuine love for working with guests of all ages.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable, accountable, and always-brings-the-energy attitude.
• High School Diploma required

Responsibilities

• Oversee cafe operations including staffing, food safety, inventory, and service speed.
• Lead the front‑of‑house experience — setting the tone the moment guests walk through the door. Manage flow, waivers, ticketing, and POS accuracy while keeping wait times low and energy high.
• Support the execution of birthday parties, group bookings, and private events. Coordinate with party hosts, the cafe team, and floor staff to make every celebration seamless and memorable.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and active park experience. Monitor attraction operations, guest engagement, and team performance throughout each shift.
• Set the tone for an energetic, guest‑first culture every single shift.
• Lead, coach, and inspire a diverse team of hourly associates across the cafe, check‑in, party, and attraction areas.
• Handle guest escalations with confidence, empathy, and professionalism
