Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in operating the drive-in restaurant. You will train and support staff to ensure quality food, safety and efficiency, while delivering great guest experiences.

Responsibilities include coaching team members, managing staffing and inventory, and performing opening/closing duties. The role demands flexibility with hours and a strong focus on service and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of restaurant management experience or one year in entry level retail management.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• General knowledge of the restaurant industry or retail operations.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy; multi-task and solve problems.
• Willingness to adhere to appearance, uniform and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coaches Team Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops to meet standards.
• Directs and assigns staff to ensure food service meets operational standards.
• Monitors compliance with employee handbook, policies and practices.
• Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
• Monitors staffing levels, inventory and food cost controls; completes weekly inventory.
• Assists with administrative duties and documentation; supports guest satisfaction.
• Reinforces a customer service mentality and responds to guest requests promptly.
