Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in running daily drive-in operations, training staff, and ensuring quality food served in a clean, safe setting. This role focuses on delivering excellent guest experiences and maintaining high standards of service.

You will handle opening/closing duties, manage staffing and inventory, oversee cost control, and perform administrative tasks while fostering a customer-first culture with the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry level retail management experience.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions; ability to multi-task and solve problems.
• Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC.

Responsibilities

• Assist the drive-in restaurant’s General Manager in managing drive-in operations.
• Train and support other employees to ensure quality food in a clean, safe and efficient manner.
• Directs and assigns drive-in restaurant employees as needed to meet operational standards.
• Open and/or close the restaurant as required.
• Monitor staffing levels, inventory levels and food cost control; complete weekly inventory.
• Perform administrative duties including maintaining files, records and required documentation.
• Reinforce a customer service mentality and ensure employees focus on serving the guest.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve complaints with supervisor guidance.
