Job summary

SONIC Drive-In in Garnett, Kansas, is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in running daily drive‑in operations, training and coaching Team Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops, and ensuring a clean, safe and efficient guest experience.

You will direct staffing, monitor inventory and food costs, perform opening/closing duties, and uphold Sonic’s appearance and hygiene standards while delivering friendly service and resolving guest requests.

Qualifications

• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• General knowledge of restaurant or retail operations.
• Six months of restaurant management experience or one year retail management experience.
• Effective communication, basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions, autonomy, multi-tasking and problem solving.
• Appearance, uniform and hygiene standards must be followed.

Responsibilities

• Manage, train, and coach Team Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Direct and assign staff to meet service standards.
• Adhere to employee handbook, policies and practices.
• Perform opening and/or closing duties.
• Monitor staffing levels, inventory and food cost control.
• Complete weekly inventory as needed.
• Assist in administrative duties and records.
• Foster a customer service focus and respond to guest requests.
