Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to assist the General Manager in daily restaurant operations, ensuring quality food, cleanliness, safety and a great guest experience.

You will lead a team, hire and train staff, manage shifts, control inventory and costs, and handle opening/closing duties. This role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year of entry-level retail management experience.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC

Responsibilities

• Hiring, training, supervising, managing, directing, and developing Great People ready to serve a SuperSONIC experience to every guest
• Making every guest a repeat customer by ensuring the guest leaves the lot satisfied every time
• Helping employees understand the big picture and their role by sharing the why behind tasks
• Celebrating team successes and coaching for better performance
• Setting clear expectations and providing continuous feedback throughout shift
• Creating an upbeat, positive atmosphere during the shift that makes work fun
• Managing the majors: food and paper, labor, and guest service
• Performing restaurant opening and/or closing duties as needed
• Monitoring and making appropriate adjustments to staffing levels, inventory levels, and food cost control
• Completing weekly inventory as needed
• Assisting with administrative duties, including maintaining files, records, and required documentation
• Immediately and respectfully responding to guest requests and assisting in resolving guest complaints
• Maintaining and enforcing SONIC safety and sanitation standards
• Relentlessly complying with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
