Job summary

Hayes County Cooperative in Hayes Center, Nebraska, seeks an experienced Assistant Manager with a Class B CDL and endorsements to join the team. The role involves coordinating deliveries, managing service appointments, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Ideal candidates multitask well, adapt to changing priorities, and are willing to help across duties from customer service to operations. Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM with benefits and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class B with Tanker, Haz Mat and Air Brakes endorsements.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities are required.
• Willingness to handle diverse responsibilities from customer service to deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule fuel, propane, fertilizer, and tire service appointments with local customers.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, including local farmers and agricultural businesses.
• Operate fuel and propane delivery trucks to safely complete deliveries.
• Deliver fertilizer and contracted fuel products to farms, businesses, and residences as scheduled.
• Perform tire repair and routine vehicle maintenance in shop or field.
• Operate and maintain delivery trucks per company, DOT, and safety rules.
• Assist with supervising and coordinating employees to ensure daily operations.
• Educate customers on product selection and purchase of feed, fencing equipment, and farm supplies.
• Maintain records related to deliveries, service appointments, inventory, and orders.

Assistant Manager Job Duties:

• Coordinate and schedule fuel, propane, fertilizer, and tire service appointments with local customers.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, including local farmers and agricultural businesses.
• Operate fuel and propane delivery trucks to safely and efficiently complete customer deliveries.
• Deliver fertilizer and contracted fuel products to farms, businesses, and residential customers as scheduled.
• Perform tire repair and replacement services in the shop and in the field for passenger vehicles, trucks, tractors, irrigation pivots, and other agricultural equipment.
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance, including oil changes and other basic servicing.
• Operate and maintain delivery trucks in accordance with company, DOT, and safety requirements.
• Assist with supervising and coordinate employees to ensure daily operations and customer needs are met.
• Educate and assist customers with the selection and purchase of merchandise, including feed, fencing equipment, gates, panels, farm supplies, and grass and forage seed.
• Maintain accurate records related to deliveries, service appointments, inventory, and customer orders.
• Assist with day-to-day operations and perform additional duties as needed to support the business.

Assistant Manager Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

The Assistant Manager must have their Class B CDL license, with Tanker, Haz Mat and Air Brakes endorsements and an acceptable driving record as reflected by MVR. The Truck Driver will be subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
