Subway is seeking an Assistant Manager in Downey, CA to lead a small team and ensure daily operations run smoothly.

You will supervise 4-12 staff, assist with planning promotions, manage ordering and inventory, and uphold food safety and customer service standards. Strong communication and POS experience are required. This role is full- or part-time with day/evening/weekend shifts, compensation at minimum wage with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be an excellent communicator and able to work with all levels of team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in restaurant operations, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Must be able to operate POS system and lift up to 30 lb.
• Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as an Assistant Manager will focus on seven main things:

In addition to the role of a Shift Manager, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Managing a staff of 4-12 including assigning and evaluating work
• Assisting in the planning of special events and promotions in restaurant, coordinating any training needed to make events successful
• Assisting with product ordering and inventory as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

Experience in a restaurant operation, preferably with supervisory experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to deal with all levels of team members. Computer knowledge is desirable.

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
