Job summary

Comstock Holding Companies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager for a luxury high-rise community in Reston, VA.

You will assist the Maintenance Manager, oversee technicians, coordinate repairs, and help ensure safe, efficient operation of building systems with a focus on 100% uptime. You will deliver exceptional resident service, manage preventative maintenance, and participate in after-hours on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• HVAC, electrical, and plumbing knowledge applicable to multi-family housing or large facilities.
• EPA 608/CFC certification required for handling refrigerants and related systems.
• Driver’s license is required to access properties and vendor sites.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents and team.
• Ability to supervise maintenance staff and coordinate repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising Maintenance Technicians, assign work orders, and schedule turnovers.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors in the Maintenance Manager’s absence.
• Perform preventative maintenance on apartments and building systems.
• Repair and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, doors, and fixtures.
• Prepare apartments for new move-ins to meet luxury standards.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
• Support grounds maintenance and general property upkeep.
