Job summary

Comstock Companies is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager for a luxury high-rise in Reston, VA. You will support the Maintenance Manager, supervise technicians, and help ensure safe, efficient operation of building systems while delivering best-in-class service to residents.

This hands-on role requires strong HVAC, electrical, and plumbing skills, plus a customer-focused approach, scheduling, vendor coordination, and an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA 608/CFC Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems within multi-family housing or mid- to large-scale facility operations.
• Customer-focused and results-driven with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Class A customer service by building relationships with residents.
• Assist with supervising Maintenance Technicians, including assigning work orders and scheduling turnovers.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors in the Maintenance Manager’s absence.
• Perform preventative maintenance on apartments, amenity spaces, and building equipment.
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and appliances.
• Prepare apartments for new resident move-ins to ensure luxury standards are met.
