Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of library supervisory experience in at least two departments.
• Knowledge of standard library functions and ability to plan and organize workloads; prioritize; interpret resources and services for the community.
• Excellent research and computer skills; ability to perform detailed and precise work.
• Ability to supervise staff and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patrons, and officials.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Library Branch Managers, the Bookmobile and Outreach Services Librarian, and other staff including training, evaluation, and performance reviews.
• Directs operations of library branches and outreach by developing short- and long-range plans and policies.
• Plans, supervises, and coordinates branch activities and evaluates services for improvements.
• Performs duties in the absence of the Library Director.
• Prepares and executes grants and related reports.
• Identifies community needs and plans services to meet them with branch managers and outreach staff.
• Monitors outreach operations and patron services to ensure a consistent experience; coordinates with Department Heads.
• Prepares correspondence and handles complaints; conducts regular staff meetings and branch visits.
