Austin Community College invites applications for an Assistant, Lab - Culinary Arts (Hourly). The role provides temporary assistance in a lab setting, supporting faculty and students during labs and ensuring kitchens and speed racks are prepared and cleaned.
You will perform light clerical tasks, restock supplies, assist with inventory, and report equipment issues to the Senior Lab Technician. Flexible hours and 19 hours per week are available with two scheduling options.

Prior food service industry experience.
Hold a valid food handler's certificate or food manager certification and must maintain its validity at all times.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. Requires long periods of standing and well as walking.
Wear a black long-sleeve chef coat (provided by the department). Wear durable pants (denim is acceptable; athletic pants are not allowed). Use non-skid shoes for safety. Hair must be pulled back when working with food. Jewelry is limited to a plain wedding band; permanent facial jewelry must be removed in compliance with the Culinary Arts Code of Conduct. Earbuds (corded or wireless) are not permitted while on duty.
Pay rate $23.00/hour
Up to 19 hours per week
Option 1: Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM–1:00 PM
Option 2: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–9:00 PM
Note: Potential for flexible hours.
