Job summary

Bakersfield, part of the Thunderdome Restaurant Group in Pittsburgh, is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager. This role focuses on supporting kitchen operations, leading the back-of-house team, and upholding brand standards to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.

You will oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and development of staff, while ensuring safety and sanitation compliance and executing taste plates with precision.

Qualifications

• Experience leading back-of-house teams, including hiring, training, scheduling and development.
• Adherence to safety, sanitation and health standards in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to implement brand standards and ensure quality control of recipes and tastes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading the back of house team and daily operations.
• Hire, train, schedule and develop back-of-house staff and hold them to high standards.
• Execute taste plates to ensure top-quality food products at all times.
• Ensure recipes are updated and aligned with brand standards.
• Monitor compliance with safety, sanitation and health regulations.
• Implement and uphold Thunderdome Restaurant Group standards and expectations.

The Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for assisting the overall operation of the kitchen through people, product, quality and hospitality. We are looking for someone who is passionate and driven to grow alongside the growth of our restaurant group. The Assistant Kitchen Manager reports directly to the Kitchen Manager. This job requires continuous movement, regularly bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and moving up to 50 pounds.
