Job summary

The University of Indianapolis is seeking a dedicated and motivated part-time Assistant Coach to support the operations of its intercollegiate athletics program. Reporting directly to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will contribute to coaching, recruitment, and development of student-athletes, while assisting with administrative duties.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and a commitment to NCAA Division II standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of one year of coaching or teaching experience.
• Ability to recruit and develop student-athletes within NCAA/GLVC rules.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor student-athletes and lead practices and training.
• Assist with planning and execution of practices, sessions, and events.

Reporting directly to the HeadCoach, the Assistant Coach plays an integral role in the dailycoaching, recruitment, and development of student-athletes, as wellas in the administrative and operational functions of the program.The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to NCAADivision II standards, academic excellence, and the overall missionof UIndy Athletics. This position requires strong leadership,effective communication, and a passion for student-athletedevelopment both in and out of the competitive arena.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience:

• Minimum of one year of experience in a coaching or teachingrole/ prior knowledge in the respective sport as an athlete orother
• Demonstrated success in:
  • Recruiting student-athletes
  • Player development
  • Program organization

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations (or awillingness to learn)
• Ability to mentor student-athletes and support academic andathletic development
• Preferred: Proficiency in film breakdown, practice planning,and performance analytics

Administrative Tasks

• Aid in the organization and maintenance of team equipment andfacilities.
• Assist with video analysis and statistical tracking to evaluateteam performance and opponent tendencies.
• Handle other administrative duties as assigned by the headcoach.

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel as required
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will assist in supervising and mentoring graduate assistants, student interns, andstudent workers.
