Job summary

Eugene School District 4J is seeking an Assistant Coach for the 2026/27 season to assist in planning, development, and execution of interscholastic sports programs. The role supports the head coach in vision creation and program operations within the school district.

You will work under the head coach to organize athletic activities, ensure safety and adherence to regulations, and foster growth in student athletes while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid First Aid Certificate including CPR training.
• Concussion Management training as required by OSAA.
• Successful completion of the District’s background check process.
• Preferred: TSPC license.
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, development, and implementation of interscholastic athletic policies and procedures.
• Support the head coach in creating and maintaining the program vision.
• Organize and conduct athletic programs to meet district needs and participant requirements.
• Provide training and coaching through motivational techniques to improve performance.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and FERPA.
• Ensure compliance with ORS, OAR, IDEA, FOIA, and CIPA policies.
