Job summary

Eugene School District 4J is seeking an assistant coach for the 2026/2027 season. The role supports the head coach in planning, developing, and implementing policies for an interscholastic sports program, while helping to organize and conduct athletic activities to meet district needs.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid Oregon driver’s license, and completion of required safety and concussion trainings, with preferred TSPC licensure.

Qualifications

Minimum education as listed; verification required.
Must meet OSAA coaching standards.
Knowledge of child growth and behavior for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, development, and implementation of policies and procedures for the interscholastic sports program.
Support the head coach in creating and maintaining the program vision.
Organize and conduct athletic programs to meet district needs.
Demonstrate professional conduct and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA/FERPA.
Provide training and coaching to improve individual and team performance.
Collaborate with diverse students, staff, and community populations.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality; follow schedules.
