Good Shepherd Services, Ltd in New York, NY is seeking an Assistant Group Leader for the after-school enrichment and recreational program. This role supports staff in delivering planned activities and ensuring a safe, engaging environment.

Hours are up to 20 hours per week, non-exempt, with a schedule of 2pm to 6pm on weekdays during the school year. Salary is $17.00 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to activities and supervision.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the group leader with engaging activities including sports, arts and crafts.
• Collect attendance folders and other data as necessary.
• Supervise participants throughout afterschool program.
• Distribute snacks and assist with clean-up.
• Assist with monitoring and upholding program rules.
• Support activity instructors with lessons.
• Collaborate to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Group Leader supports and assists staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for the after-school enrichment and recreational program.

Major Duties:

• Assist the group leader with engaging activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and craft and special events
• Collect attendance folder and other data as necessary
• Supervise participants throughout afterschool program
• Distribute snacks and assist with clean-up
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program and upholding the afterschool model
• Support activity instructor(s) with lessons.
• Collaborate with group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
• Follows all GSS, DYCD and SACC regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
