Job summary

Good Shepherd Services in New York is seeking an Assistant Group Leader to support the after-school enrichment and recreational program at PS 382. You will assist the group leader with engaging activities, supervise participants, collect attendance data, and help with snacks.

This part-time role is up to 20 hours per week during the school year, Monday through Friday, 2 pm to 6 pm, with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable and consistent work habits with youth experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the group leader with engaging activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and special events.
• Collect attendance folders and other data as necessary.
• Supervise participants throughout the afterschool program.
• Distribute snacks and assist with cleanup.
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program and upholding the afterschool model.
• Support activity instructors with lessons.
• Collaborate with group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
• Follow all GSS, DYCD and SACC regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Assistant Group Leader supports and assists staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for the after-school enrichment and recreational program.

Reports To: Program Director, PS 382

Location: 125 East 181st Street, Bronx, New York 10453

Hours: Up to 20 hours/Week; Non-Exempt

Schedule: School Year / September - June / Monday - Friday, 2 pm to 6 pm

Salary: $17.00 / hour

Major Duties:

Assist the group leader with engaging activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and crafts, and special events.

Collect attendance folder and other data as necessary.

Supervise participants throughout the afterschool program.

Distribute snacks and assist with clean-up.

Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program and upholding the afterschool model.

Support activity instructor(s) with lessons.

Collaborate with group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

Follow all GSS, DYCD and SACC regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.
