Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager in California to help customers make healthy choices while leading one of the busiest store teams. You will assist the Grocery Manager with merchandising, inventory, and staff development to deliver exceptional service.

You will coordinate tasks, ensure safety guidelines are followed, and contribute to achieving sales and margin goals in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and 1-3 years retail management experience; familiarity with natural foods preferred
• Flexible schedule that changes with business needs; nights, weekends, holidays; walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to take/give direction in a team environment
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with positive attitude and customer interaction ability
• Proven leadership to build/motivate staff; understanding of margin reports and weekly sales goals
• Detail-oriented with strong planning, organization skills; prioritize multiple tasks
• Must lift milk trays up to 60 lbs. for up to 25 hours; handle boxes up to 50 lbs. for up to 25 hours
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access floor level up to 30 hours

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, and teamwork
• Help lead a team to deliver high-quality product, service, and customer experience
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Grocery Team
• Unload and sort store deliveries; ensure health, safety, and sanitation guidelines are followed
• Support a fast-paced environment and drive execution in-store
