Job summary

Make Golf Your Career is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to work closely with the Head Professional in running daily golf shop operations and delivering exceptional member and guest service. The role includes tournament planning and execution, merchandising, starting and pace-of-play management, and club fitting/repair support.

The ideal candidate will lead by example, stay proactive in daily tasks, and contribute to an outstanding member and guest experience at a private California club.

Qualifications

• PGA or LPGA member preferred; candidates actively pursuing membership or progressing through the program are encouraged to apply.
• Private club experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Golf Genius, Jonas Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher.
• Proven leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
• Reliable, organized, and professional.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage member tournaments using Golf Genius Tournament Software.
• Operate and Charge on Jonas POS System.
• Starting and Course Marshall
• Assist in checking in and displaying merchandise in the pro shop.
• Assist members by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules and regulations.
• Operates golf shop in absence of Head Golf Professional.
• Manage the daily opening and closing of golf operations as needed.
• Manage GHIN handicap system.
• Perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the Head Golf Professional

The Assistant Golf Professional works closely with the Head Professional to oversee daily golf shop operations and deliver exceptional service to members and guests while maintaining established standards for customer satisfaction, sales, and financial performance. Responsibilities include assisting with tournament planning, coordination, and execution, along with golf shop operations, merchandising, starting and pace-of-play management, golf instruction, club fitting, and club repair. The ideal candidate will lead by example, take a proactive approach to daily operations, and contribute to an exceptional member and guest experience.
