Job summary

Palm Valley Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to support daily golf operations, member services, and events. This part-time, seasonal role works closely with the Director of Golf and Golf Shop team to deliver an exceptional experience for members and guests.

The ideal candidate is a professional, personable PGA member or apprentice, with strong communication, reliability, and a willingness to contribute wherever needed to ensure a successful operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year experience in golf course operations.
• Two years of employee supervision and scheduling.
• Interest in PGA Apprentice Program.
• Excellent golf skills.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
• Retail sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Golf and/or the Golf Professional in the maintenance of the golf course, maintenance and repair of golf cart fleet.
• Assists in scheduling and implementation of golf tournaments, lessons, golf camps, tee times, golf cart staging and starters.
• Responsible for display of pro-shop merchandise, appearance of pro-shop and sales.
• Responsible for operation of cash register and sales reports.
• Participates in meetings.
• Assists Director of Golf and Golf Professional in golf course operation as directed.
• Ensure a safe environment for patrons and uphold the company policies and procedures.

Overview

At Palm Valley Country Club, our members are at the center of everything we do. The Assistant Golf Professional plays an important role in delivering an exceptional golf and member experience while supporting the daily operations of the Golf Department.

This is a part-time, seasonal position that works closely with the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, and Golf Shop team to provide outstanding service to members and guests. The Assistant Golf Professional will assist with daily golf operations, member services, tournaments and events, tee-time management, golf instruction, and the overall presentation and organization of the Golf Shop and golf facilities.

The ideal candidate is a professional, personable, enthusiastic, and service-oriented PGA Professional or golf professional who enjoys building relationships with members and creating a welcoming environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a willingness to contribute wherever needed to ensure a successful golf operation.

Every interaction with a member or guest is an opportunity to strengthen their connection to the club. The Assistant Golf Professional is expected to anticipate member needs, provide personalized service, communicate effectively, and consistently represent the club and management in a professional and positive manner.

Experience Required

• Ability to work well with the public, other employees and other departments.
• Knowledge of golf course operations, teaching skills and scheduling.
• Interest in entering P.G.A. Apprentice Program. Energetic and neat in appearance.
• Ability to work unsupervised at times as well as being able to work as part of a team
