Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager with restaurant operations and marketing efforts, staffing, training and supervision. You will help drive profitability and guest satisfaction across a multi-faceted travel center environment.

The role emphasizes team leadership, coaching, and hands-on management to ensure fast, friendly service, quality food, and a safe, clean dining area. Growth, training and performance management are key elements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Supervisory experience in fast-food preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; operational understanding of POS software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the restaurant team to meet and exceed performance standards.
• Coach and performance-manage staff according to company policy.
• Serve customers courteously and efficiently with a positive attitude.
• Provide great tasting food and a clean restaurant environment for all guests.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain high-quality team members per company guidelines.
• Help achieve financial objectives through effective people, product, service and facility management.
• Adhere to safety standards and company SOPs; support vendor relationships.
• Perform duties of hourly associates as needed.
