Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking an Assistant General Manager for Truck Service to lead the team, oversee operations, and ensure rapid, safe maintenance of heavy‑duty trucks and trailers. You will drive customer service excellence, manage staff performance, and support financial objectives at a nationwide network of travel centers.

The role requires strong leadership, supervisory experience in truck service, and a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience in truck service, travel centers, or related business activity preferred.
• Knowledge of truck service business and strong verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Truck Service team to meet and exceed performance standards.
• Coach and performance manage staff according to company policy.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain high-quality team members per guidelines.
• Assist technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy duty trucks and trailers.
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure products and services are available.
• Help achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service and facility processes.
• Adhere to safety standards and follow vendor relationship guidelines.
