Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help oversee daily operations at our travel plazas. This role offers an entry path into management with hands-on learning in leadership, customer service, and store performance.

You will supervise day-to-day activities, coach shift teams, ensure brand standards, cash handling, and inventory checks while maintaining a welcoming guest experience.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and management skills with ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with sharp business acumen.
• 2+ years in quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Flexible and open to varying schedules.
• Basic food safety understanding.
• Ability to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management staff, assign work, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Respond in absence of the general manager.
• Motivate staff, especially during low morale.
• Maintain strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues promptly and ensure policy compliance.
• Ensure brand standards, store appearance, and cash management.
• Resolve customer needs and build long-term relationships.
• Keep inventory data accurate with spot counts and checks.
