Job summary

Border Foods LLC in Illinois is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, uphold our CORE values, and develop a high-performing team delivering fast, friendly service. You will manage scheduling, control labor and costs, coach team members, and ensure food safety and quality while driving guest satisfaction and sales.

This role requires a minimum of 1 year restaurant or retail experience and ServeSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year restaurant or retail experience.
• Experience with sales building, P&L statements, recruiting, and training.
• Proven track record of successful hiring and retention.
• Must be able to work early morning, evenings, late nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Non-exempt management position; 50 hours per week minimum.
• ServeSafe Certification.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of the entire restaurant.
• Build a strong, capable team and provide guidance to shift leaders.
• Ensure fast, friendly service and high-quality food.
• Schedule and deploy staff to meet demand while controlling labor costs.
• Maintain health and safety standards and adherence to policies.
