Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help lead the Lauderdale Pet Lodge resort in Lauderdale, Florida. You’ll partner with the General Manager to run day-to-day operations, grow the team, and deliver outstanding pet care and customer service.

This hands-on, full-time role focuses on coaching staff, maintaining high standards, managing budgets and KPIs, and building local partnerships to drive memberships and services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 to 4 years of customer service experience (leadership experience is a plus).
• Strong communication skills and comfort leading teams in a hands-on environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems.
• Availability to work up to 45 to 50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and a vehicle you are willing to transport a pet in during an emergency.
• Ability to support and influence workplace change and improvement.
• Experience in hospitality, retail, restaurant management, veterinary, or similar service environments.
• Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Resort Leadership Team alongside GM to align with goals.
• Maintain smooth operation delivering pet care and customer service.
• Drive revenue growth and control costs.
• Develop and coach shifts and team members.
• Manage staffing and scheduling; ensure labor guidelines.
• Handle customer concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Oversee audits, checklists, and end-of-shift reporting.
• Partner with GM on recruiting, onboarding, and training.
• Support budgeting and KPI tracking.
• Foster a positive, engaging workplace culture.
