Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts in Ann Arbor, MI seeks a hands-on Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager in running day-to-day operations, developing the team, and delivering outstanding care for pets and clients. This full-time role focuses on culture, performance, and service excellence in a fast-paced resort setting.

Responsibilities include leadership, staffing, guest experience, and financial performance, with salary range $46,000–$55,000 and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 to 4 years of customer service experience (leadership experience is a plus).
• Strong communication skills and comfort leading teams in a hands-on environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems.
• Availability to work up to 45 to 50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance (including comprehensive and collision), and a vehicle you are willing to transport a pet in during an emergency.
• Ability to support and influence workplace change and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Culture: Model values and lead by example; coach Shift Leads and Team Members; recognize performance and partner with GM to create engaging workplace culture.
• Operations And Guest Experience: Maintain pet care standards, cleanliness and safety; manage staffing and shifts; resolve customer concerns with empathy.
• Sales, Marketing, and Business Performance: Support marketing programs and local lead-generation; build relationships with local businesses and referrals; track lead activity.
• Financial and Performance Management: Assist with data-driven plan and KPI tracking; support budgeting and scheduling; analyze trends.
• Team and Talent Management: Recruit, hire, onboard, train; ensure training completion; manage performance and retention.
