Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers in Edison, NJ, is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help the General Manager run daily operations and deliver superior customer service.

This role offers an entry-level path into management, opportunities to coach staff, uphold brand standards, manage cash and inventory, and build lasting customer relationships. You will supervise shifts, train front-line team members, and ensure the restaurant looks clean and inviting.

Qualifications

• Leadership and management capability with ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with business acumen.
• 2+ years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Supervise non-management associates, assign work, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale.
• Strong Leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintain awareness of brand standards and procedures to maximize brand/landlord/labor relations.
• Keep the restaurant clean, inviting, and aligned with brand standards.
• Ensure cash management is accurate and reports are delivered per directives.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues, building long-term relationships.
• Perform spot inventory counts to verify stock.
