Job summary

Planet Fitness is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help oversee gym operations and deliver an exceptional, judgment-free member experience while ensuring financial success. You’ll lead a team with strong customer service skills and a passion for coaching.

Prior retail or fitness management experience is a plus. Responsibilities include recruiting and training staff, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, managing front desk activities, and ensuring the club runs smoothly on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Superior customer service is required.
• Experience in supervising staff is preferred.
• CPR certification is required (can complete upon hire).
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and developing a high performing staff including Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
• Assist with Staff Management and provide backup support to Club Manager as needed.
• Schedule and supervise staff and oversee front desk activities.
• Ensure a superior customer experience for members at all times.
• Resolve or escalate employee issues or concerns.
• Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of facility and manage supplies within budget.
