Applegreen USA Welcome Centers is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations across our travel plazas in the Northeast and Midwest. This role offers entry-level managers a path to learn essential supervisory skills and exercise sound judgment.

You will lead teams, ensure guest satisfaction, uphold brand standards, manage cash activities, and drive performance while maintaining a clean, inviting environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a quick-service restaurant or similar operations.
• Strong leadership and people management experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules.
• Must be able to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives clearly.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management staff, assign work, coach shifts supervisors.
• Be able to perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate staff, especially during low morale periods.
• Maintain strong leadership and organizational skills and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards and procedures, optimize brand/landlord/labor relations.
• Maintain a clean, inviting restaurant appearance and uphold standards.
• Manage cash handling and produce daily reports as directed.
• Address customer needs and build positive, long-term relationships.
• Ensure inventory accuracy through spot counts and checks.
