Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers operates a network of travel plazas delivering convenient food options and services across the Northeast and Midwest. We are seeking an Assistant General Manager to help run daily operations, lead a team, and uphold brand standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will coach staff, manage shifts, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement in service quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping people learn and grow the business.
• Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with sharp business acumen
• 2+ years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations
• Flexible and open work schedule
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of non-management associates, assign tasks, and coach shift supervisors.
• Fill in for the General Manager when needed to keep operations smooth.
• Motivate staff and maintain morale during busy or challenging periods.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills in daily tasks.
• Address issues promptly and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Maintain brand standards and ensure brand/landlord/labor relations are optimized.
• Keep restaurant clean, inviting, and compliant with standards, and manage cash daily.
