Applegreen USA Welcome Centers is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help the General Manager ensure daily operations run smoothly at our travel plazas. This role offers an entry-level path into management with hands-on training in leadership, coaching, and discretion.

You will supervise front-line associates, set goals, and communicate objectives while maintaining brand standards, strong customer service, and efficient cash handling. A flexible schedule and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Passion for helping people learn and grow the business.

• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen.
• 2+ years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Flexible and open work schedule.
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of non-management associates, assign work, coach, and develop shifts supervisors.
• Possess the ability to perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintain awareness of brand standards and procedures to maximize relations.
• Keep the restaurant clean, inviting, and aligned with brand standards.
• Manage cash accurately and generate daily reports as directed.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues for long-term relationships.
• Ensure inventory counts are accurate via spot checks.
