Ludico by Tribeca Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join the opening leadership team in New York. You will partner with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, support team development, and drive guest satisfaction with high hospitality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in upscale or fine dining environments.
  • Leadership experience as an Assistant General Manager or similar role.
  • Opening restaurant experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of service standards, hospitality best practices, and cost controls.
  • Ability to manage labor, payroll, and guest satisfaction metrics.

We are seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to join our opening leadership team. This role will partner closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, support team development, drive guest satisfaction, and ensure the successful execution of Ludico's service and hospitality standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives on the dining room floor, leads by example, develops strong teams, and is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences. This individual must possess strong operational knowledge, financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to hospitality excellence.

Position Summary

As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a key role in the overall success of the restaurant by supporting all aspects of front-of-house operations, team leadership, guest relations, financial performance, and service execution. You will work closely with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and leadership team to ensure seamless daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism.

This position serves as the General Manager's second-in-command and must be capable of leading the restaurant independently when necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in overseeing all daily restaurant operations.
  • Lead and manage front-of-house service teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
  • Maintain a strong and visible presence on the floor during service periods.

  • Conduct pre-shift meetings, staff meetings, and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
  • Monitor labor costs, staffing levels, scheduling, and payroll accuracy.
  • Review daily sales reports, labor reports, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in achieving financial goals, including sales growth, labor management, and controllable expenses.
  • Support inventory management, purchasing, receiving, and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to monitor food and beverage costs and support COGS management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and company operating standards.
  • Monitor and maintain the restaurant facility, equipment, and service areas to ensure operational excellence.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless communication and execution between front and back of house.
  • Assist with special events, private dining experiences, VIP programs, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Purchasing teams on company initiatives and projects.
  • Support the development and execution of promotional programs, revenue‑driving initiatives, and guest engagement strategies.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty and make operational decisions in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ensure each shift is executed efficiently while handling unexpected challenges and service recovery opportunities with professionalism and urgency.
Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience as an Assistant General Manager, Floor Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar role.
  • Opening restaurant experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing high‑volume upscale or fine dining operations.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, and hospitality best practices.
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, payroll review, employee development, and performance coaching.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, vendor relations, and cost controls.
  • Understanding of food and beverage cost management and financial performance metrics.
  • Experience analyzing sales reports, labor reports, budgets, and operational performance data.
  • Proficiency with Toast POS and restaurant management systems.
  • Experience with SevenRooms, Resy, and OpenTable preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of restaurant profitability and financial performance.
  • Experience collaborating with Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams.
