Job summary

Hallson Hospitality is seeking an Assistant General Manager to run day-to-day, on-site operations at the Germantown Inn in Nashville. You will greet arrivals, manage check-ins/outs, and ensure memorable guest experiences while supporting the innkeeper team.

In this independent, hands-on role you will schedule the team, coach for service standards, oversee SOPs, and handle sales/events from first contact to execution. Local candidates preferred for in-person duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality, hotel, or boutique inn operations preferred.
• Scheduling and sales/events experience a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Local to Nashville, TN.
• Comfortable learning multiple property management platforms (Guesty, SuiteOp, Conduit).

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager on Duty and main guest contact during shifts.
• Greet guests, manage check-in/check-out, assist with breakfast or touches.
• Create memorable guest moments and coordinate reservations where needed.
• Resolve escalated guest issues with calm, in person, and involve the Director when needed.
• Build weekly schedules for the innkeeper team and coach staff on standards.
• Lead training for new hires and process updates with the team.
• Collaborate on SOPs and monitor team performance with the Director of Guest Experience.
• Ensure rooms are cleaned to Hallson's standard and inspect afterward.
• Report maintenance issues and keep lobby/grounds guest-ready.
• Serve as the main contact for sales and event inquiries and coordinate logistics.

The Assistant General Manager runs day-to-day operations at the Germantown Inn and owns the guest experience from start to finish. You'll be the person guests and the innkeeper team turn to — greeting arrivals, handling check-in and check-out, resolving issues on the spot, and finding ways to make every stay memorable. This is a hands‑on, independent role for someone who loves hospitality and thrives working on their own.

What You'll Do

Guest Experience

• Act as Manager on Duty, serving as the main point of contact for guests during your shift.
• Greet guests, manage check-in/check-out, and step in for breakfast or other guest touchpoints as needed.
• Create memorable moments — special amenities for celebrations, local recommendations, and hands‑on help booking reservations.
• Resolve escalated guest issues calmly and in person, looping in the Director when needed.

Team & Operations

• Serve as the main point of contact for the innkeeper team and build their weekly schedule.
• Coach the team on service and brand standards, and lead training for new hires and process updates.
• Partner with the Director of Guest Experience on SOPs and team performance.

Property Standards

• Confirm the cleaning team arrives and cleans each room to Hallson's standard, and personally inspect rooms afterward.
• Report maintenance issues to the Operations team and walk the lobby and grounds to keep the property guest‑ready.

Sales & Events

• Serve as the main point of contact for sales and event inquiries, from first contact through execution.
• Coordinate logistics with the innkeeper team and vendors, and be present for events as needed.

Schedule

This is a salaried, in‑person role based on‑site at the Germantown Inn — candidates must be local to Nashville. Shifts typically start in the afternoon (around 1–3 PM) and run into the evening; hours flex around events and Inn needs.

• A self‑starter who’s comfortable working independently and making decisions on the spot; this role runs solo most of the time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in hospitality, hotel, or boutique inn operations preferred; scheduling and sales/events experience a plus.
• Comfortable learning multiple technology and property management platforms (e.g., Guesty, SuiteOp, Conduit).
• Local to Nashville, TN.
