Job summary

ACC San Diego - Association of Corporate Counsel seeks an Assistant General Counsel to provide full-service legal support with emphasis on regulatory, compliance, litigation and employment law. The role represents the company before the MIA and OAH, drafts memoranda, and counsels management on complex legal matters.

The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor, bar admission in MD or DC within one year, and at least one year of legal experience, including health care or regulatory work.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the legal field.
• Health care, regulatory, or relevant base of experience required.
• Preferred: regulatory experience; ERISA/health/managed care, bankruptcy, employment law, litigation or arbitration.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal services focusing on regulatory, compliance, litigation and employment law.
• Represent the company before regulatory bodies such as MIA and OAH; manage hearings, subpoenas and court documents.
• Advise management and participate in intercompany committees on legal matters and governance.
