Job summary

NewEdge Capital Group is hiring an Assistant General Counsel to serve as the right hand to the General Counsel, focusing on litigation, arbitration, and regulatory-exam matters. The AGC will manage an active caseload and coordinate with outside counsel and insurers, with occasional domestic travel.

The ideal candidate brings genuine litigation and dispute resolution acumen, can own matters end to end, and is prepared to step in when needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar license; PA preferred with supervision option.
• 5+ years of litigation experience in law firm or in-house.
• Experience with subpoenas and third‑party discovery.
• Ability to manage full caseload and coordinate with outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Manage NECG’s caseload of litigation, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Handle pre‑litigation disputes and assess exposure.
• Review pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery, and settlement docs.
• Prepare witnesses and coordinate case logistics for hearings.
• Evaluate reserves with finance and insurers.
• Lead regulatory exams and prepare responses.
• Mentor in-house lawyers and staff.
• Advise on litigation exposure and regulatory risk.
