Job summary

Georgia's Own Credit Union seeks an Assistant General Counsel, Litigation to manage litigation, disputes, and regulatory processes. The role leads outside counsel, oversees discovery, and provides practical risk-based guidance to business teams within a dynamic in-house environment.

The successful candidate will have a J.D. from an accredited law school, active Georgia bar admission, and 5–8 years of litigation experience in financial services or regulated industries.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active Georgia bar.
• 5–8 years of litigation experience in financial services or regulated industries.
• Experience managing outside counsel and in-house teams.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of litigation and dispute matters for the Credit Union and coordinate with outside counsel on budgets and outcomes.
• Review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement proposals, and other litigation documents.
• Support responses to subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and investigations as needed.
• Provide practical risk-based legal counsel to business partners and leadership.
