Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an Assistant Foreman to support project execution, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with project leadership. You will assist in system mobilization and decommissioning, manage equipment setup, oversee safety, and help monitor timelines and resources.

The role requires a high school diploma and mechanical experience with bypass pumping, generators, power distribution, A/C and water restoration or construction equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is typically required; additional technical certifications or education in mechanics or engineering is a plus.
• Prior experience in a mechanical, maintenance or related role with bypass pumping, generators, power distribution, A/C and water restoration or construction equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical/electronic interfaces.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written skills to interact effectively with customers, team members and internal resources.

Responsibilities

• System Mobilization and Decommissioning: lead setup and tear down of equipment for pumping, power, HVAC, energy and temporary utility systems.
• Emergency and Disaster Response: participate in rapid deployment and management of resources for disaster restoration.
• Safety Assurance: promote a safe work environment and ensure adherence to safety policies and practices.
• Compliance Oversight: identify hazards and implement controls to minimize risk.
• Execution Support: collaborate with Project Leads to monitor timelines and resource allocation.
• Performance and Delivery: ensure on-time projects and efficient operation of equipment.
