Job summary

Trinity Services Group operates a secure food service program inside the Chesapeake jail environment, seeking an Assistant Food Service Director to partner with the Food Service Director in planning and supervising large-scale meal operations. You will lead a team, ensure compliance with health regulations, and maintain efficient production across kitchens.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 18.
• Two years of management or supervisory experience in food service.
• Three years of experience in food service.
• ServSafe Certification.
• Experience with purchasing, inventory, ordering and receiving.
• Experience applying kitchen sanitation and safety standards.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and ability to complete reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with food service management systems.
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide, train, and manage the facility food service operation.
• Hire, orient, train and issue corrective action to team members.
• Communicate with clients to develop positive connections.
• Oversee quantities of food prepared and served per plan.
• Maintain inventory accuracy for planned menus.
• Ensure proper storage of food items.
• Maintain serving schedules to meet menu specs safely.
• Ensure sanitation and compliance with health codes.
• Interact with state inspections as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
