Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego seeks an energetic Assistant Food & Beverage Manager for Market One. You will oversee daily operations, lead a fast-paced team, and ensure memorable guest experiences from greeting to order fulfillment.

You will work closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team to maintain Hyatt standards, manage labor, and optimize financial performance while upholding safety and quality across all service periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in F&B management or equivalent
• Strong guest service orientation and cash handling basics
• Experience in high-volume, multi-service period operations

Responsibilities

• Assist daily supervision and operation of Market One, including opening/closing, service flow, cleanliness and food safety
• Lead and coach associates during shifts, provide direction and feedback
• Create a welcoming, efficient guest experience from greeting to order fulfillment
• Monitor service standards, ticket times, product quality and outlet readiness
• Assist with scheduling, staffing, training, onboarding, and performance development
• Maintain cross-department communication with Culinary, Stewarding, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security
• Support inventory management, ordering, receiving, storage, and waste control
• Assist with cash handling, POS procedures, daily reporting and reconciliation
• Help manage labor and operating expenses; identify efficiency opportunities
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions and concerns
• Ensure compliance with Hyatt standards, policies, health regulations, and safety
• Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, promotions, and programs
• Serve as a visible leader and role model for hospitality and teamwork

Grand Hyatt San Diego is seeking an energetic and service-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support daily operations at Market One. This role is ideal for a hands-on hospitality leader who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences, and knows how to motivate a team to perform at its best.

Market One is a convenient, high-volume lobby outlet serving coffee, beverages, grab-and-go items, snacks, and prepared foods to hotel guests, visitors, and colleagues throughout the day.

As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will support the overall operation of Market One, with a primary focus on guest service, team leadership, operational execution, and financial performance. You will work closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team to maintain high standards while ensuring a welcoming, efficient, and memorable experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily supervision and operation of Market One, including opening, closing, service flow, product availability, cleanliness, and food safety.


• Lead and support associates during assigned shifts, providing direction, coaching, feedback, and recognition.


• Create a warm, efficient, and engaging guest experience from greeting through order fulfillment.


• Monitor service standards, ticket times, product quality, presentation, and outlet readiness.


• Assist with scheduling, staffing, training, onboarding, and performance development.


• Maintain strong communication with Culinary, Stewarding, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other hotel departments.


• Support inventory management, ordering, receiving, storage, par levels, waste control, and product rotation.


• Assist with cash handling, point-of-sale procedures, daily reporting, and reconciliation.


• Help manage labor and operating expenses while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.


• Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, requests, and concerns.


• Ensure compliance with Hyatt standards, hotel policies, local health regulations, and workplace safety requirements.


• Participate in departmental meetings, training initiatives, promotions, and special hotel programs.


• Serve as a visible leader and role model for hospitality, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.


• Perform additional duties as assigned by Food & Beverage leadership.

Wage

This is an hourly management level position with an hourly rate of $32.76/hr. This position will be on a 45 hour work week and is eligible for overtime. The estimated salary for this position is $80,917 annually. This is the pay range for this position that Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years as F&B Management preferred


• Ideal applicant should have strong organizational skills, ability to work with flexible work schedule, be a team player and a dynamic leader


• Experience in a high-volume operation with multiple service periods is preferred.


• Strong knowledge of guest service, food safety, sanitation, cash handling, and basic financial controls.


• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.


• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift, carry, or move items as required by the operation.
