Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Equipment Solutions Manager for the Sports & Entertainment group. This on-site Minneapolis role partners with other Equipment Solutions Managers to provide leadership and project support across equipment planning, budgeting, and logistics.

You will manage inventory, vendor relations, and 5S-driven improvements, while leading a team of craft and non-craft staff. Travel up to 25% is required; a valid US driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required; 4+ years in construction, equipment rental, and/or project management, or 8+ years equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and manage time effectively.
• Experience with budget planning and financial oversight is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize owned equipment, storage, and tooling.
• Plan equipment needs and scheduling with internal teams and vendors.
• Oversee large inventory and ensure accurate tracking.
• Forecast and budget for equipment-related needs.
• Manage rental software contracts and procurement.
• Coordinate equipment logistics and transport.
• Maintain vendor relationships.
• Travel up to 25% as required.
• Lead process improvements using 5S in warehouse/yard.
