Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Equipment Solutions Manager for the Sports & Entertainment group, located in Minneapolis, MN on-site. The role partners with other Equipment Solutions Managers to provide leadership and project support.

The responsibilities include managing equipment, planning with teams and vendors, budgeting, and driving process improvements. Travel is expected around 25% and a strong background in construction equipment management is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years in construction, equipment rental, and/or project management.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload and manage budgets.

Assistant Equipment Solutions Manager – Sports & Entertainment

Mortenson is hiring an Assistant Equipment Solutions Manager-Sports & Entertainment to support our growing Sports & Entertainment group. This role partners with other Equipment Solutions Managers to provide leadership and project assistance.

Location: Minneapolis, MN (On-site 5 days/week)

Responsibilities

• Managing and organizing owned equipment, storage, and tooling
• Equipment planning and scheduling with internal project teams, equipment solutions teams, and 3rdparty vendors
• Large inventory management
• Financial forecasting and budgeting
• Rental software contract management
• Equipment logistics planning
• Vendor relations
• Understanding of construction equipment maintenance, opportunities, constraints and requirements
• Establish improved efficiencies and process improvement plans for warehouse and equipment yard using 5S strategies
• Lead department initiatives to include development, training and support
• Manage a team of craft and non-craft team members
• Support innovation by encouraging new process development
• Interior and exterior responsibilities required
• Travel expectation 25%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in construction, equipment rental, and/or project management experience or 8+ years of equivalent professional trade experience
• Familiarity with basic maintenance/service schedules
• Effective communication both verbal and written
• Ability to multitask and prioritize based on workload
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong computer skills
• Valid US Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Ability to travel 25%
• Experience with budget planning and financial oversight (preferred). Demonstrated knowledge of construction equipment and materials (preferred)

The base pay range for this role is $100,100 - $150,200. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
