Burns & McDonnell in Chicago seeks an Assistant Electrical Engineer to help design power, process, and facility projects from concept through construction. You will work with project teams to adapt electrical plans to budgets and client needs. Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited degree and internship experience. EIT preferred, with strong communication and teamwork. Growth in a large, employee-owned firm with diverse projects.
Qualifications
ABET-accredited degree in electrical engineering or related field.
FE exam completed or in progress.
Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
Basic knowledge in standard electrical engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
EIT certification preferred.
GPA 3.0 strongly preferred.
Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
Responsibilities
Assist in electrical design from concept through design completion.
Modify and review production drawings for a variety of facilities.
Assist in designing electrical components per project needs and requirements.
Apply basic knowledge of electrical concepts, codes, and procedures.
Assists with client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of multiple facilities.
Assist in performing field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
