Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Electrical Engineer in Southfield, MI to support project teams across power, process, healthcare, airports, and industrial facilities. You will assist from concept through design, adapting plans to budget and client needs while collaborating with project managers and senior engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, ABET accreditation preferred, and prior internship experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist electrical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for diverse facilities (power, healthcare, airports, industrial, governmental).
• Design electrical components to meet project requirements.
• Apply standard electrical engineering concepts, practices, codes, and procedures.
• Assist with project data collection for managers.
